Introduction

When running a session in MixStage, you have the option to either playback the audio from the uploaded video or live stream your audio track directly from your DAW with our DAW streamer.

The DAW streamer is perfect for mix reviews, live collaboration and more, with the possibility to make changes in your track during the session and live stream the audio directly from your DAW. Always in perfect sync with the uploaded video in your MixStage session, for outstanding quality on both ends.

Initiate a DAW Streamer:

To use the DAW streamer, you begin by starting a MixStage DAW Streamer, either from your MixStage Dashboard or from within a session.

Note: The DAW streamer can be run on a separate computer from your actual session, if you for instance have a laptop for your video meetings and a separate computer that runs the DAW.

Make sure that the audio and MIDI output in your DAW matches the input of the DAW

streamer.

DAW setup instructions:

FL Studio (User Created Content on YouTube, no written instructions)

Project Configuration

Choose the video file you want to work on and make sure the frame rate and start time matches the ones in your DAW.

These settings will achieve perfect sync between the two timelines (including exported markers)

Note: Midi from the DAW is always transmitted to our DAW streamer in the MTC supported formats; 24, 25 or 30 fps. DAW projects however often run in 23.976 or 29.98 fps.

Our DAW streamer converts the MIDI formats back to the native DAW format, i.e 23.976 or 29.98 using the "Project Framerate" selector in the DAW streamer.

Streaming Configuration

Once the status of your DAW streamer has changed to "Connected to room," you are ready to select it as a source in your Session.

Selecting Audio & Sync Source:

At the bottom of MixStage, select the streamer (as the source of audio and sync). This action allows your DAW's transport to control the video playback in MixStage.

Quality:

Audio is now streamed directly from your DAW at the highest possible quality, while video is streamed from MixStage servers, ensuring optimal quality for both.

All the other tools, such as markers, will still be available in MixStage, and they are easy to download and drop straight into your DAW.
