To set up Logic for DAW streaming, you need to change some settings within the DAW.

Watch the video or continue reading below:

Midi Time Code (MTC) and Midi Machine Control (MMC)

The first thing you want to do is to configure your synchronization settings, which you’ll find in Logic’s project settings: File -> Project Settings -> Synchronization

In the MIDI tab, click on an empty row in the destination column and choose your virtual

MIDI device. Check the boxes for MTC (MIDI TimeCode) and MMC (MIDI Machine Control)

In this article, we will use the IAC driver, Apple’s built-in virtual MIDI device, but you can also use the integrated Logic Pro Virtual Out.

Also, ensure that the box for “Transmit MIDI Machine Control (MMC)” is checked.

MMC message format

In Logic’s internal settings - head to the MIDI section and then the Sync tab. Make sure that MIDI Machine Control uses ”MMC standard Messages” and not ”Old Fostex format” and adjust any additional settings (i.e., Dragging regions and events is checked)

DAW streamer

Lastly - Make sure that the output of your audio and MIDI in Logic matches the input of the DAW streamer.

These settings will allow the MixStage session to receive TimeCode and audio from your
project and follow your current playhead position in Logic for a flawless experience
